A Gift for Mom

I finished Mom’s Christmas gift last night.  I’m really happy with the outcome.  For this whole set I used Bernat Softee Chunky yarn (weight 6 – super bulky) in the color Wine (161128).  I think I used a size L-11 hook for the cap and scarf but I can’t be for sure with the cap because it was before I decided to keep track of what I was doing (Sorry!).  For the gloves, I used a size I-9 hook.

After searching and searching and actually starting one hat but then undoing it, I finally decided on the Town and Country Hat pattern from Lion Brand.  I’m very happy with this and it was easy to make!  The scarf in the above picture was crochet from the Fresh Air Beret & Scarf set in the eBook, Quick Styles for You by Leisure Arts.  The beret as part of this set was what I was going to originally make but didn’t like how it was coming out.

I’m loving the fingerless gloves!  I have my own pair that I made from another pattern last year, but the ones I made for Mom turned out really cute and I think they will be warm since I made them with the thicker yarn.  Thank you to The Lavender Chair for this pattern, Valerie’s Fingerless Gloves.
